Christ dying on the cross has secured righteousness before God, that I might be able to be made right before God- not because of what I have done but what He has done. When God looks at us at what Christ has done, we are deemed righteous.
Any gospel that tells you that you can become who you can be in your own strength, is not the true gospel. True gospel always point to Jesus, highlighting Jesus.
I heard a story today and it goes like this:
There was a couple who lived in a big house, but the house was dirty.
One day, it was the couple’s anniversary and the husband bought home a beautiful vase. The wife was so happy, and she put it in the corner of the house. Everyday they would stare at it and admire it.
But they realized that the vase did not match the house. Hence, they decided to do something about it. They revamped the whole house, painted the whole house, changed the furniture and curtains; did everything they could to change the house to match the vase.
Do you get it?
When Christ is in you, every part of you will change.
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
So whenever you think of Galatians 2:20, think of this story.
Saw this on a friend’s blog.
“Until you have something to die for, you have nothing to live for.”
— Kris Vallotton
IF Christ is in you, self must submit and fall in behind.
Our true North …
April 26, 2012
Our true North is the Word of God.
“As Christians, we have God’s Word to guide us. It is a benchmark for our lives. It provides us with a constant “north” so that we can continually align our lives with truth. Its compass is dependable. By its light, we can accurately see our exact location, evaluate how far we have come, and see the route ahead (Psalm 119:105). The Word of God provides us with road signs for our safety. Stop! Turn back! Danger! Road out ahead! It is all there for us to see.”
Gospel camp! :)
March 30, 2012
Spent 3 days in camp ( POL-ITE SERVE)! Feeling very refreshed after camp, pray that that won’t go away after a few weeks.
Anyway, to sum it all up, here it is:
AND. Through this camp, I’ve been reflecting on my Christian walk with God( areas of my life I need to surrender to God), and how I didn’t see the sense of urgency to reach out to my NC friends until this camp.
At the same time, Just wanna share a hymn:
“Fill my eyes, oh my God
With a vision of the Cross,
Fill my heart with love
For Jesus the Nazarene.
Fill my mouth with thy praise,
let me sing,
Through endless days
Take my will,
Let my life be wholly thine.”
I don’t know who wrote this hymn, but the person who wrote this understood the gospel of Christ.
“It is no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me.”
By faith
March 7, 2012
“We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul’s reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight”
“No matter our resources, we will fail unless we use them according to God’s plan. … Study the Word, pray for God’s direction, and trust His leading (Ps. 91:2) before we step out in any venture of faith.” – ODB
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.” —Psalm 91:2
CNY 2012
January 30, 2012
4 more weeks of schoooooooool, followed by exams, and I’m free!
Time really flies!
Last lap, so I’m so gonna pull up my socks.
Still haven’t decided what to do after I finish sch in Feb( will graduate in May if I’m not wrong). I really need to start planning and then commit them to God.
Be patient and trust God for directions. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6). His ways is always the best, without exception. “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless” (Psalm 18:30)
Trusting God to trust God to lead me — to open the right doors (and close those that aren’t right).
More importantly than landing the dream job is: living as a child of God. That, is God’s will for our life: that we live and glorify His name in whatever we do.
Christmas-> Christ came to born and die for us. And no one knows why HE did that. I mean, HE didn’t had to, but HE did! The most explainable reason is because HE LOVED US though we were sinners.
“Jesus brought to us what the world never had or understood: Grace”
That statement is my takeaway from today’s sermon:)
